Volunteer with Southeast Seniors!
"(My recent surgery) has made me very aware of the critical support given by Southeast Seniors. I'm lucky to have a community of neighbors, friends and family keeping their eyes on me."
~Southeast Seniors client
Provide needed services for older adults in SES neighborhoods:
-
Transportation: Provide rides to medical appointments and essential errands.
-
Outdoor chores: Assist with fall or spring clean-up, garden maintenance, snow shoveling, lawn mowing, or other chores.
-
Grocery Shopping Companion: Take a neighbor grocery shopping 1-2 times/month, or shop on their behalf and deliver groceries to their home.
-
Friendly Visitor: Visit with an older adult on a regular basis, in-person or by phone. Set a schedule that works for both of you!
-
Activities Leader/Assistant: We always seek new ways to engage with our neighborhood's older adults! If you’d enjoy sharing a strong interest or expertise, contact us to discuss the possibility of creating and/or leading a Southeast Seniors activity group.
-
Other Assistance: Older neighbors sometimes request other help, such as household projects or companionship activities (walking or reading aloud). Needs also arise for clerical assistance and help delivering supplies.
